Q. How do I start with the virtual writing coach?
Answer: Begin by registering your name and other details required in our form. As soon as we received the completed form, we will contact you over the phone and ask some important questions. After the short interview, our coach will advise you to pay the registration fees to our designated bank account number before the engagement. Q. How much is the registration fee? Answer: Our registration fee is only Php 600.00 pesos per month (For Filipinos Only) for primary, intermediate and professional levels. This fee is inclusive of eight papers up to three constructive feedback/revisions on a single writing paper. For other services such as web page editing and proofreading, the fee varies according to the type and nature of service. Q. After completion of all papers in one month, can I continue on? Answer: Yes, you may opt for another four-week program provided that upon registration, you follow the same procedure. Q. How much time is required to complete one paper? Answer: There are eight papers that a student needs to complete every month. The amount of time is dependent on the student’s writing skills. If however the student fails to complete eight papers in a month, s/he can ask for an extension valid for two weeks. Q. How long do I expect to receive my paper with feedback from the writing coach? Answer: Expect your paper to be evaluated within thirty-six (36) hours after submission. Q. How is my paper evaluated? Answer: Your writing coach will primarily evaluate your paper based on our standard rubric which includes topic development, language usage and sentence skills (grammar, sentence structure, punctuations), and word choice. We do not use numerical marks to assess your paper but we use comments and feedback with tons of encouragement to assess it. We will also send tips, suggestions and mini-lessons to help you improve your writing. Q. Do I need to purchase a book? Answer: No. There is no need to buy any book. Although we have reference books available such as Master English Grammar without Cracking Your Brain and Master Report Writing without Sweat, we do not require them. It is optional though if you desire to supplement your learning with these books or other materials. Q. What do I expect from joining this program? Answer: In our website, we have sufficiently answered it in “What’s In It for me?” column. Joining this program will certainly expose you to these three areas. Q. Can I as a parent be involved with my son or daughter’s writing work? Personal dialogues between coaches and students unrelated to the topics or writing prompts are strictly prohibited. Q. Can anybody take this program? Answer: Yes, everybody is qualified to take this program because there is absolutely no end to learning. Q. Why do you think teaching how to write is effective through the use of internet? Answer: We believe that all skills can only be learned through constant and correct practice. If you practice any skill incorrectly, even if you practice for a hundred years, you will not learn the skill correctly. To learn any skill correctly, like communication skills, you need to engage yourself with the skill with the help of a professional coach who can guide you and tell you if what you are doing is right or wrong. You cannot learn a skill by just reading a book or watching the skill on You tube. You need exposure and engagement to learn any skill. Having a writing coach in the internet is a blessing because it saves you from the trouble of going to brick-and-mortar classrooms and traffic jam experiences. Q. Can I become a virtual writing coach after I pass all the modules in the program? Answer: Absolutely yes. After passing all the modules in the program and we see a potential in you to become a virtual writing coach, we will consider taking you in. |
